What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They can be "essential" (needed for the site to work) or "non-essential" (e.g. analytics or marketing), and either "session" (deleted when you close the browser) or "persistent" (kept for a set period).
How we use them
This website is intentionally lightweight and, by default, sets only essential cookies / local storage needed to remember your cookie choice. We do not load analytics or marketing trackers unless you accept them.
Cookies and local storage we use
- proporio_cookie_consent_v1 (essential, local storage, ~180 days) — remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again.
Non-essential cookies (loaded only if you accept)
- Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_*) — audience measurement and site improvement; up to ~2 years. Provided by Google. The Google tag is not downloaded at all until you accept. - PostHog (
ph_*_posthog, local storage + cookie, up to ~1 year) — product analytics, hosted in the EU. What it does depends on where you are: - In the application (app.propor.io): we record only events we define explicitly, identified by an internal account identifier — no automatic capture of what you click or type, and no session recording.
- On this marketing site (propor.io): in addition to page views, we record a replay of your visit — the pages you see, your scrolling, your clicks, and any message the page writes to your browser's developer console. Everything you type is masked before it leaves your browser, including the e-mail field on our campaign pages, and the replay never covers the application itself. Replays are stored in the EU and deleted automatically at the end of the retention period configured in our PostHog project.
Not a cookie: error monitoring
We use Sentry (EU region) to be told when the application crashes. It stores nothing on your device and sets no cookie, so it is not covered by the choice above; it runs on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service working. Crash reports contain the error, the stack trace, your browser and the page path — never your name, e-mail address or IP address. See our Privacy Policy.
These are loaded only after you click "Accept all" in the cookie banner. If you reject or ignore the banner, they are not loaded. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the website footer.
Managing your preferences
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing your browser storage. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential functions may then not work as intended.
